Shipping Policy
Brix House Wine is dedicated to ensuring your wine arrives in the same condition as when it left our warehouse. Therefore, our shipping policy is designed with this in mind.
Brix House Wine accepts all orders for shipment in California. If you wish to ship to another state, you assume all responsibility for shipment. As state laws are changing constantly, acceptance of an order is not a guarantee that we will ultimately be able to ship wine to you. We will notify you before processing your order if we are unable to ship wine to the state you request to determine whether you wish to proceed.

Expedited Delivery Service
Brix House Wine recommends the use of FedEx Ground on all orders of regular wine, due to the high cost of Air Freight shipping costs. However, for rare, expensive and/or vintage wines, we strongly recommend you select Overnight Expedited Service, to avoid the possibility of damage to your wine due to adverse weather conditions, or other factors.
Delivery Address
We recommend that all shipments are sent to a business address or an address that is equipped to receive shipments during standard business hours. This ensures your shipment won't remain in vans or warehouse facilities overnight without temperature controls.
Contact the carrier: If your ability to receive the package on the first delivery day changes, contact the carrier as soon as possible to make alternate arrangements.
Shipping costs
Customer is responsible for all carrier fees incurred in shipping purchases to Customer's desired shipping address. Brix House Wine charges shipping on behalf of the Customer as reflected in Customer’s invoice. Brix House Wine acts as an agent on the Customer’s behalf by then paying the carrier (FedEx).
Shipping/Transit Insurance
Since title passes to the Customer upon approval of payment, Brix House Wine does not offer insurance. However, you will have the opportunity to purchase insurance through the carrier Brix House Wine employs (Federal Express) to deliver your wine. Charges for this insurance are as follows:
FedEx Express shipments: for shipments valued at up to $100, insurance is free of charge. For shipments with a declared value in excess of $100, the charge for insurance is $.60 per $100 with a minimum charge of $1.80. Therefore, the complimentary insurance covering the first $100 of declared value, plus the minimum insurance at $1.80 will insure shipments with a declared value of up to $400.
FedEx Ground shipments: the cost of insurance is $.60 per $100 of declared value with a minimum charge of $1.80. Therefore, the minimum insurance at $1.80 will insure shipments with a declared value of up to $300.
During the Check Out process, Customer will see a summary of charges for insurance prior to purchase. By default, the box consenting to purchase of insurance is checked. However, Customer may override this by unchecking the insurance box. This now means the Customer has opted out of insurance and Customer’s shipment is not covered by insurance offered by FedEx. Brix House Wine strongly recommends Customer purchase the insurance made available.

Purchases being shipped to CA will include sales tax.
